LiveattheMasque

The scale says 1762 g, so you do get some weight for your money. And not only that, what you mostly get is great photos from this very early punk venue in Los Angeles called the Masque. All the photos taken between 1977 – 1979 by various “photographers”, it seems most of them by Al Flipside.Brendan Mullen, who ran the Masque and did this book also writes about his memorys to the club, the people going there, the problems everybody was facing and the fun everyone had. But this book is not so much about text, it is about photos (if you want to read more, check out the other books by Mullen: Lexicon Devil and We Got the Neutron Bomb).

And you can be ensured, you get plenty of pix, Live-Shots, photos of people hanging at the venue, photos, photos, photos, most b/w but not only, mixed inbetween are flyers, tickets and other graphic, but the focus is on the photographs. Every photo has captions that explain in a few words who is on the photo and also credit the photographers. Great! The book has +320 pages in a large format ( 295 x 225 ) and is hardcover. Some of the bands you can see: The Avengers, Bags, Black Flag, CH 7, Dead Kennedys, Fear, Germs just to name very few. Check it out. 39,90 Euro (dolf)
