We review almost all releases that fall into our muscial context and fit our independent agenda, means Punk, Hardcore, Underground, DIY etc. – doesn`t matter if it is on tape, Vinyl, CD, DVD. We won`t review MP3 or anything similar (streams, downloads etc).

If you send something in for review, we try to cover it, but we can`t promise to review everything we receive. Please no follow-up calls/mails, please don`t ask if we received your material and if and when the review will appear in Trust. We don`t have enough staff to track that down. There is only one way to see if your stuff got a review, make a subscription

Trust Veranstaltungen 2010

Für 2010 sind schon Veranstaltungen mit Trust-Beteiligung geplant. Dabei meinen wir nicht die eventuelle Teilnahme des TRUST BOWLING POINT Teams an dem BYO PUNKROCK BOWLING Turnier vom 06.05. – 09.05.2010 in Las Vegas und auch nicht die eventuelle Teilnahme an der parallel stattfindenen (POPUP-Messe in Leipzig. Das steht alles noch nicht so fest.

Hingegen fest steht: CORPORATE ROCK STILL SUCKS!

Mehr als 30 Jahre nach der ersten Veröffentlichung und gut 20 Jahre nach dem „ssT-Hype“ feiern wir einen Abend lang das einflussreichste Independet-Label der Achtziger Jahre. Neben altbekannten Helden finden fast vergessene Perlen und Obskuritäten den Weg auf den Plattenteller.

Selbst vor Zoogz Rift schrecken DJ ssT-One (vom Trust-Fanzine) und DJ Schippy nicht zurück. Auch an Bord TWO HORSES & KANEOKA ONE – HAZELWOOD -DJ-SET. Ein Abend mit ssT-Platten, Filmen und Videos.

This was a sucker to get thru, almost 500 pages, rather small print and the main part is 31 (!!) lengthy band-interviews – puh. Now that I got this off my chest lets talk about the book. As shown in the subtitle it is all about hardcore in the nineties, and the author took a lot of time (6 years) to talk to all the bands from back then. Here are some names: Avail, Burn, Coalesce, Deadguy, Earth Crisis, Endpoint, Inside Out, Los Crudos, Integrity, Rorschach, Shelter, Unbroken, Trial, Vegan Reich..

Vernissage „Collaboration“

Am 19.02.2010 präsentiert das I-Punkt Skateland, die bisher zweite Vernissage des Hamburger Fotografen Christian Bendel von CHBENDELPHOTOGRAPHY.COM, in ihrer Halle in der Spaldingstrasse 131 in 20097 Hamburg.

Dieses Projekt startet unter dem Namen „Collabration“ und trägt die Idee einer Zusammenarbeit/ Verbindung der Musik und des Skateboardings/ Bmx mit verschiedenen Künstlern in Bildern gebannt darzustellen. Dabei geht es auch um das Lebensgefühl, die Freiheit, den Spass am Leben, die Party und das Adrenalin, welches man auf Konzerten als auch beim Skateboarding oder Bmx verspürt.

Bei dieser Zusammenarbeit hat sich der Hamburger Fotograf hochkarätige Unterstützung ins Boot geholt. Neben der Londoner Fotografin Cindy Frey, die international bekannt ist und im Musikbereich aber auch in der Tattoowelt, Mode und künstlerischen Fotografie ihre Berufung gefunden hat, stellen noch drei weitere Künstler ihre Werke aus. Dabei sind Carlos Fernandez Laser (Cheezy Rider Fotostory plus ausgestelltem Cheezy Bike mit Niels-Peter Jensen, Evil Jared, Oliver Korittke, Alex Anderson und Jan Hüwel), Benjamin Gleichmar (Skateboarding und Bmx) und Malte Schimpke (Graffiti Art). Alle drei sind ebenfalls Hamburger und können sich mit dem Thema indentifizieren.

Der Abend wird zu späterer Stunde mit den Auftritten der Bands Goodbye Jersey (Ska/Punk/Meldodycore Hamburg), The Detectors (Streetpunk Neumünster) und Mr. Nice Guy (Punk/ Hardcore HH) abgerundet und in der Bowl wird es eine Skatesession geben (also Skateboard einpacken!).

Und nun kommt mit all euren Freunden am Freitag den 19.02.2010 ab 17 Uhr ins I-Punkt Skateland/Hamburg in die Spaldingstrasse 131 20097 Hamburg und feiert eine dicke Party mit Kunst, Konzert und Skatesession. Ab 24 Uhr findet eine Aftershow Party im BAD TASTE CLUB auf dem Hamburger Berg 21 St. Pauli statt.

Als wäre das nicht schon alles cool genug, nein es geht am nächsten Tag noch weiter. Und zwar werden wir am Abend des 20.02.2010 die Skateboarddokumentation „First Try“, welche gerade eben erst frisch auf DVD rausgekommen ist prämieren. Die Erstaufführung des Films in Hamburg wird im Lichtmess Kino stattfinden. Dies ist in der Gaussstrasse in Altona. Mehr dazu auf www.lichtmess-kino.de

There`s this pizza joint in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It used to be a pretty decent spot. A bit on the pricey side maybe, but at least one could bring their own alcohol rather than spending an offensive dollar amount on some "three letter shitbrew` in a can. The rustic "warehouse turned restaurant feel was charming and one never had a hard time grabbing a seat at the mostly communal style tables.

If you have a basic knowledge understandig of how human beeing and nature functions, you don`t need to read this book. Human beeing is omnivore and nature is about eating and being eaten – whats new. The author herself was a vegan for 20 years and, according to her, that ruined her body.

In case you don`t know, the artist Eric Drooker from New York – he does great political images drawn with razorblade on scratchboard. His art has been published in various books and other publications. Here are 32 postcards bound to a book.

One might ask why so much effort goes into a design of the bottom of a skateboard when it most likely will be scuffed away? The not so surprising answer is, of course – it helps selling it. And while some companys will not admit it, it is clearly expressed in the editorial from the author, it is alot about „branding“ – find a style for the company that a lot of people can identify themselves with and buy.

I’m personally not a friend of desserts, be they vegan or not, most of them are sweet and a so called treat. In my world not necessary. But I do know there is plenty of other worlds out there and plenty of people love treats. For them this is the perfect little (15x15cm) dessert cook book, as the title says, it is all vegan. And also with whole flour and decreasing sugar. so it is not only animal free, but probably also healthy.

At least that is the impression I get from reading the foreword by the author. So if: Cakes, Donuts, Candies, Cookies, Bars, Pies, Ice Cream, Puddings, Toppings, Quick Bread and Fruity Stuff – is what you like to eat – this is your book. I read a couple of the recipes and it seems it is easy to make them. The book is illustrated with lino cuts and zany cartoons by eight different artists. Paperback, 10,95 US $ (dolf)

This has already been published in September 2006, shortly after the legendary New York club closed. There is a introduction by Richard Hell and then you can see what you missed – basically a dump, haha. The walls of the venue have been covered in graffiti and stickers since 3 decades and never been cleaned, painted or otherwise treated – so you get that authentic look of a indeed legendary club.

There is a schematic sheet of the room, so you have an idea how it was cut – very simple. There is the stage and seats, the green room, the bath rooms and the bar. And you get many photos of the club and its walls. 64 pages that document something that otherwise would have been lost, colour throughout (22,5×18 cm) paperback. 64 pages. 11,99 $ (dolf)

Am Anfang war ich ja ein wenig skeptisch… aber die Skepsis ist dann ganz schnell verflogen. Das liegt zum einen an dem kurzweiligen Schreibstil vom Autor und zum anderen das der Mann kompetent ist weil er zu der Zeit – also den Anfägen des Punk Rock in Deutschland (1977) – mit dabei war (u.a. betrieb er das No Future Label in Hannover).

Eigentlich wollte ich sie ja endlich mal sehen, diese Band, die – dazu später mehr – für eine explosive Bühnen-Show bekannt ist, mit der sie ihren wüsten No-Wave-Spazz-Rock kredenzen. Das neue Album „Wars“ muss als weiterer gelungener Schritt im Rahmen dieses musikalischen Projekts gewertet werden, reifer vielleicht, aber nicht milder, konzentrierter, aber nicht gelassener.

Actually, I wanted to at last see this band , the – more on that later – is known for an explosive stage show plus their No Wave Spazz rock . The new album “ Wars “ has to be considered as a further successful step in this musical project , mature perhaps, but not mild, concentrated , but not relaxed .

FEAR OF GOD (#129, 02-2008)

Fear of God war eine Schweizer Noise-Band, die es in den 80igern gab. Die Band wurde trotz ihres übersichtlichen musikalischen Outputs sehr oft gebootlegt. 2003 fand eine kurze Reunion satt, bei der es Auftritte in Deutschland, der Schweiz, Belgien und Italien gab. Sänger der Band war Erich Keller, der damals auch das Label Off the Disk Records machte, das Fanzine Megawimp herausgab und umtriebiger Aktivist war.
